Dispersion is a contemporary visual data storage media designed for quick uptake. Flickering dots can show a symbol or a pattern, make you feel the movement and the rhythm. The matrix controlled by means of a unique algorithm switches from one state to another without repeating itself. It is somewhere between a pure light substance, a message, and an image. The concept is based on two states juxtaposed. One is the state of a symmetric ornament that refers to a mirror-like imaginary infinity, to some pre-historic decorative art, some ancient worldview, in which the whole world, including nature and people, was united with an eternal cosmic pattern. The second is the state of the symbol that refers to the subject personally, that communicates with the identity and its unique fate. Step by step, the mind-stabilizing phase of the ornament goes into the symbolic state, inviting the viewers to ask themselves questions, to look for senses and coincidences, and then the process repeats in the reverse order, as if trying to balance between movement and standing still. The installation comprises 3 panels.
STAIN
STAIN
The digital art studio that focuses on abstract shapes and concepts. Their key objective is to find concentration in today’s multidimensional data flow. The artists see the creative process as a way of expressing their idea of the world and themselves, of reflecting the fundamental principles at the heart of nature functioning and human perception.

At Stain, they use generative methods to create graphic, audio visual, and light installations. The studio was founded in 2009 by Alexandra Gavrilova and Sergey Titov, who currently reside and work in Moscow.
