His New Nature series showcased at the exhibition comprises the works in which continuous data aggregation and operation of sophisticated algorithms penetrates through all the aspects of life. They are about the epoch of systems in which colossal amounts of data about Nature, the World, and us within are continuously collected and processed. These systems are generating an infinite stream of content – posts, messages, and digital footprints – for complex networks, and they’re doing that on a daily and non-stop basis. For the artist, it is the language of algorithm operation that matters, as it is a language of the future, provided now, but without an aesthetic description available yet. At this point, it can’t be characterized and defined. When scrutinizing Bundenko’s works, viewers catch sights of patterns and symbols they feel to be familiar – but can no longer perceive them as a whole. The familiar shapes and connotations become something else, something other, something of a new kind, which doesn’t yet exist but is all-pervasive already.
Anton Bundenko
Cross-disciplinary artist, engineer, and designer. In 2017, he founded Futureisnown LAB, an ecosystem for technology research, theoretical prototyping of the future horizon and critical reasoning. Since 2020, Anton Bundenko has been using neural net algorithms and other state-of-the-art technical tools that reflect the spirit of the new time.
